  • VCO on the ICL8038 signal generator.

VCO on the ICL8038 signal generator. A very simple scheme. Exit to LM386. Well, that's how anyone likes it.
Ready-made boards can be bought on aliexpress. Very sensitive.
I applied it to a Barracuda. With 8 "coil, one euro per 30 cm. But only with VCO. Normal mode 23-25 cm.
We take a sine wave at the output and get a very pleasant sound.
Using the frequency knob, you can set the initial key to suit yourself.

What a sound, I'll make a video this week. This power compartment, 4 x 18650 3500mAh batteries. Plus VCO + amplifier.
On the second side, the board itself and control regulators.
I will lay out the entire review in the Barracuda metal detector section. The box is completely shielded with graphite.

          Hello everyone.
          Happy New Year.
Video from my Barracuda sound V.C.O.
I do not speak English so words are few.
          I think something is clear.

I watched the video. It looks more like a threshold tone than a VCO.

I remember i did something like that in the past with other IC vco, and made same connection like you but tests in real
ground were bad. That because the jfet from 7660 oscillator has it purpose there.

This microcircuit is a generator of different signals, we take a pure sine wave. Therefore, the sound is very pleasant. But this is as you like.
The change in tonality is noticeable when the voltage changes by + - 0.1 volts.

Nice VCO, sounds just like a Minelab PI.
