  • Deteknix Pinpointer - Audio-Signals-Input to Vibration - Modification

You know where tinkering comes from? Yes, the Gypsies who could repair pots and all kind of metal stuff
already in medieval times !!! Your pan had a hole? No problem - your Travelling-Metal-Guru will patch it!

Later this developed into electrics, electronics and hardware engineering because you needed persons wo
could deal with metal at the hardware level. Not just inventors with their often not reliable working ideas.

Reminds me on my times 20 years ago, when I sended the plain 22kHz audio signals into the Playstation
for making boot every single burned backup! Together with my self-programmed key-cards for Pay-TV...

And meanwhile - I needed just 3 resistors and 1 transistor to hack a pinpointer for Audio-input-vibration!

Yeah, its fantastic - you can do magic with electronics and especially with metal detectors !!!
300 years ago they would have burned me as a sorcerer if I would have had such devices !!!
You really should read the following book:

Johannes Dillinger (auth.) - Magical Treasure Hunting in Europe and North America - A History
Palgrave MacMillan, Houndmills Basingstoke Hampshire, England, 2012
Johannes Dillinger is senior lecturer from Oxford Brookes and University Mainz, Germany

And treasures always were magical !!!

"If we pursue and bring to good passe this labour, it shall live upon our tombes
(so that we bury no treasure with us, and therefore be digg'd up again).
Quote from: William Rowley "A Search For Money", 1609, England)

My interest for treasure-hunting originated from my interest in doing magic. That's why I also know everything
about religions and black magical arts. Religions and cults, these wish-thinking betraying tricks since 5000 years.
Hahaha !!! You should read some old demon conjuring grimoires and how they wanted to find the buried treasures
500 years ago. I doubt it worked.

But enough of this little free culture- and history-school lessions for you.
Read that book if you are interested in the magical dimension of treasures!
Or better: Read it not so you won't become frightened. Because treasures can bring a lot of evil if you
don't handle them the right way! Directly comparable with buried landmines or the Box Of Pandora...
There even exists stories where the haunted ghosts wanted to get rid of their evil earthly treasures!

But we are the modern metal-wizards because we not just can hold the soldering iron at the correct end -
Hahaha! - but also can put parts in a "magical" way together so it will result in fixing or creating "machines".
For the Gypsy-Tinkerer it was pretty simple to heat-up the lead- or TIN - (yes, tinkerer comes from tin) and repair
the cooking tools or whatever. And I hope the lead-alloy was not too poisoning for the poor people .... Hahaha!

Today it's a little bit more complex because a machine only is as good as those who are using it. Like race-drivers!
You need the right tool for those who can handle it and not fools who think that some MD is bad just because they
don't understand its complete range of functionality under real and also under special conditions!

Anyway, it took me ca. 20 hours for creating this modification. But if you have a Deteknix XPointer or if you reply to
this posting as an interested person, I might show you the "magical trick" - because thats the deal of such a forum -
providing others with USEFUL informations - isn't it ?! You had to wait already anyway for it since the 14. May 2021.

And enjoy your life as long as you haven't been poisoned through pans patched with lead or whatever ... Hahaha !!!

Det is Berlinn !! White-Beer with Shot, minimum !! *cheers return*
(aka: Berliner Weisse - info for those from abroad)

Who is rosin? But nice horseshoe from Ukraine. Yeah - luck-bringing!
It must bring you luck if these completely sick sociopaths won't stop!

OK, first a short info about vibration-detection itself:

In the beginning its about a little bit more "fine-feeling" - per instance with my
screw-adjustor at the Garrett-Pro-Pointer I can easily reach the doubled depth
but not in any soil. The critical-signals even start to react on pressure and
mineralized stones or when the screw was just 0,1mm pressed too far.

btw. without modification you can't use the Garrett Pro-Pointer seriously.
You will start to dig 20cm deep holes while the find is just 3-5cm away.

And you will have at least 2 liters of whatever more of weight with you
cause listening to music while working is no fun without a drink nearby.

        reminds me on the joke:
A construction worker falls from the roof and his colleague cries:
        Hey, leave the bottle-opener here!

        And:
If you use vibration its good if you can control the ground-balance or directly
re-adjust the sensitivity with one button-press, so the coil really IS sensitive.

Not who) Thats simple rosin or colophony for soldering purpose. Somewhere i read there is special sort of colophony for inspirational purpose from Holland.
Yep they are sick, but no doubt all be ok.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience and good sense of humor.

I still don't get the point what you meant, now that I know that rosin means soldering-resin or soldering flux-medium.

But today I saw a report at WION and its a shame that the poor "pawns" @ Donbas shoot each other by sniper-rifles!
If they would have played "Sniper Ghost Warrior" etc. on the PS4 they would know that the weapon is perfect but the
persons are totally the wrong ones. Btw. this is a stealth game like Hitman, which is really funny! There you also
should not kill innocent people! These suicidals must do the same as in Chess with these sick mass-murderers!
Perhaps I will go to Ukraine soon because its complete insanity what these *** European psychos are doing
since one year. They must get a situation like in Canada, they will learn how to treat folks the hard way!

Yes, the beautiful Ukraine! My father was there in World War 2, near Kharkov, for 7 years. For 3 additional years -
because some fool mis-interpreted his wood-working-wound with intentionally removing some SS-tattoo-number!
3 years longer than his compagnions. Perhaps it was also his character, because we here don't let f*ck with us.
We have even roots from the Ukrainian direction into the wild wild east... Huns could've been our ancestors...

I just can warn you about all these sucicidal and murderous war-idiots! They haven't played enough Call Of Duty.
And I wish you good luck that you will find as many horseshoes as I have found meanwile, sorry, I can't tell you.

            - - -

Vibration detection usually has the advantage of avoiding noise but thats useless if you hit with your shovel rocks or
stones while digging and those make much more noise! Hahaha! So you have to learn to dig as careful and quiet as
possible, especially at night or nearby houses, roads and streets. Its also better for the animals, flowers and bugs
and for leaving no traces behind. Create a small corner with 2 shovel-stabs, clap it out, get the find and close it as
never would have happended there anything at all. Hahaha - sorry, again I can't tell you more ...
Just that I could dig out all the gold-bars from your garden and you won't see the next day anything at all! Hahaha!

Funny story: I made this mod just because I had no spare vibration-motor and I wanted not to destroy any pinpointer
for it. I had not enough motivation but you can add a switch and put the electronic parts outside and you can still use it
as a pinpointer or as a 2in1 device. Besides the already existing battery compartment is also very practical! Hahaha!

I don't know if I've removed the piezo-beeper but usually the vibration signal is all you need for a pinpointer anyway.
It contains also more information if it starts very slowly and then becomes stronger compared with the plain beeping.
With vibration, drinks and music it is like within a movie and the finds are jumping out of the ground in no time at all.

Last but not least here's the Mod-info as text - this is a puzzle, you might need to add some space's first. Hahaha!
And never give up hope for finding the huge treasure! Today I've found the perfect fitting picture for this attitude:

But the frustrated guy would have been buried from all the crystals anyway, so it was better for him to leave!

By coincidence I found today another Pin-Pointer Mod which fits here - it was made in Nov. 2012.

The problem was / for many still is that the white LED of the Garrett-Pro-Pointer was / is always on!
Because the "enemy" can see this LED, per instance **** hunters who think they own the whole area!
But with their sniffing dogs or googles they might still find you, so be careful, some are complete *****!

I replaced the white LED with a red one and made it On-Off switchable.
              Instructions:

              - open the ProPointer but first rip out that on-off "gum-presser"
              - unsolder the white LED and solder a red LED at its formerly place
              - cut the plus pole PCB line with a knife where the LED was soldered
              - attach a cable with 100 ohm (brown black brown) to the LED's plus spot
              - solder a small press-button- or left-right-lever-switch to that wire
              - the second cable of that switch goes to the 9v battery plus pole
              - place that switch wherevery you want by melting it into the plastic
              - wind some electric-tape over the switch for dirt- and water-protection

You can do this with every other pinpointer, too. This is just the method behind.

For profis: hack some 7,2v LiPo accu so it fits into the 9v compartment.
You can use it with an extra dongle, which has the 9v battery connections,
then you can work for 15 days or over 100 hours with one charged LiPo-accu.

And by that way solder some plastic part to the battery-cap with cord etc.
Cause better attach this easy to lose thing to your throusers or belt by a cord!
