Waterproof XLT

Hi, just wondering if anyone out there has waterproofed their XLT? I see the awesome mods on the Explorer from Charles....has anyone tried anything like this on the XLT? I am very tempted to give it a go.....I went to the beach a few weeks ago and was frustrated with the sand finds. I met a guy hunting in the water and he said that is where the goods are. I want a waterproof detector but am used to the XLT plus I am short on the FUN-ds. Its a fresh water beach, so i don't think you will get ground balance problems. I am thinking like maybe mounting the whole works in a small pelican case. the display would be the hardest part......."what?? clearance sale on silicone? I'll take a dozen!!"
