  • HELP FOR Coinhawk Coil

    hi all

    i make coinhawk yesterday.

can help me for making coil for this metaldetector?

and can use bandido II uMAX coil for this?

    thank.

Hi Sisco, Yes! This machine was designed my me (and then made to work by others) to use Tesoro coils. The best should be the 10" polo (white coil) if you can get one.

Let me know how it works (if it works).

    Cheers!!

      .....

I wasted some days building it. Strujas wasted also some days drawing pcb in DXP. 3-4 different pcb's....
Never worked due pile of errors in schematic...
      Anyway, no hard feelings.....
But i would also like to see if it is gonna work for you....
I works i'll be much interested to try it again. Did you reffered to posted schematic here? Or you have corrected schematic?
      best wishes!

          about bandido coil

can help me for this detail?

          TX1 diameter?

          TX2 diameter?

          RX diameter?

and how must choice coil inductance for RX and TX ?

(about frequency and link to inductance )

No that is for a Whites which use a "tuned" coil. It will not work for a Tesoro type design.

Look up Dave Emery's posts on how to build a coil.

Ftx should be around 12KHz if you get it to work

              hi

i used bandido coil for this

              RX1 (inside): 12 cm dia with 170 T 13.5 ohm (0.35 mm wire)

              TX :20 cm dia with 100 T 6.2 ohm (0.5 mm wire)

              RX2 (outside):20 cm dia with 20 T 3 ohm (0.35 mm wire)

              TX frequency : 16.95 Khz and 9 volts (with 12.8 v Supply)

              I cannot found 74HC4016 so use 4016

sensibility : not good . detect 20cmm*20cm metal plate from 30 cm distance.

maybe bad sensibility for 4016 or coil (because bandido coil designed

for 10-12 Khz and this metaldetector work around 17 Khz)

can somebody help me for this ?

                Sisco,

Please post me the circuit diagram you used. I will have a look at it and see it I can see where I made a mistake (yes I know there were a few). Protel did not put dots on the diagram and I screwed up the audio stage. Should work with your version though.

Try changing caps in oscillator to lower frequency. See if this helps.

                  Hi Sean_Goddard

I use Qiaozhi ZIP file in this address:

                  http://thunting.com/geotech/forums/s...ad.php?t=12142

                  with change audio part.

and use own pcd design for this circuit (one layer).

                  can open with :Advanced PCB2.5,DXP ,SE,Altum Designer6.

                    this is my PCB:

this PCB hard for make because use one layer and more than 30 jampers.

another question :how must calculate TX frequency?

TX frequency not FIXED (between 16.5 - 17.8 KHz)

and thank for this help.must change oscillator caps and test.

Sisco, to calculate the frequency check here>> http://my.integritynet.com.au/purdic/oscillators.htm

I see many obvious mistakes instantly and will try to correct then over the next few days and post a corrected diagram for you in Protel 99 format. I am very busy at work so may not get it done, but I will try my best.

I should have done this ages ago, and I apologise to all those who tried to build this and couldn't get it to work .

                              NO so robert.

I would NEVER set out to try to make anyone in this forum look stupid and have a "laugh" at the expense of those who are trying to learn about detectors? SHAME ON YOU!!

This was my FIRST design, based, as I CLEARLY stated on the Tesoro Eldorado. I was hoping someone would spot the similarities and thus spot any mistakes I had made. I also CLEARLY stated is was a design EXERCISE, and as such it WOULD have bugs. The object of the invite for people to build it was for them to CHANGE the design and MAKE it work, as I did not have the time to do so.

I own and run THREE businesses (bet you don't even own one), because the amount of my time that takes is like 24/7. I get approx 1/2 hour a day to talk to my wife on the phone because I'm away most days, sometimes for weeks on end. I enjoy coming here to exchange ideas, so if you think that the little time I DO have here is wasted in feeble attempts to make others look stupid, then you are missing a vital part of a normal persons anatomy, because there is NO WAY I would do that. Ivconic and a great many others know that too.

BTW I don’t see ANY input on this project from you other than this post. MAYBE if you have gotten involved sooner and ACTUALLY HAD SOME CONSTRUCTIVE INPUT you might have the right to post what you have, otherwise I suggest you apologise or explain WHY you feel the need to comment about something which has NOTHING to do with you.

I have ALWAYS been one of the first to offer helps and tips to others (ask Carl). Maybe you are an employee of some large dealer or manufacturer. That would figure. Tell your bosses I won’t EVER go away, and their time is nigh. Enough said.

You know, it is better to let people THINK you are an idiot, than open your mouth and prove it. At least I admit I'm stupid for the mistakes I made (what’s your excuse) but it also takes a real man to do that, so maybe I'm not so bad after all.

BTW if others feel the same as this guy regarding my behaviour on this project, then PLEASE say so.
