Whites/Black-Box MDs W/C-Cell Batt. Packs.Q

Is there any lighter weight replacement for whites C-Cell batt. pack that will meet the detectors voltage
requirements. Even if new batt. connectors need to be slodered in? Can say a 1992/93 Eagle Spectrum or
simmular Black-Housings ,internal parts be put in say a lighter or smaller self-mfg. box and be in the same place as the Orig.?(the obvious mission is to reduce the weight of some of these otherwise very good machines). Not looking for apperance as much as light-weight & performance. Thanks to AlL in advance.

You can use a 4-cell AA pack stuck inside the C-cell pack, with a reduction in battery life.

I used military spec' 4000mAh C Li-Ion cells as a replacement. they weigh 1/2 the weight, but cost like $20 each. But I get two whole days detecting out of them.

Not sure where to get equivalents, but a google search might show something up. I'll have a look and post here with my findings.

Whites will sell you the 4 C Dry dry cell adapter box for around $9.99 (last time I bought one) then you can fit the rechargables in it and take them out when u need ot charge them, OR fir a charging socket like I did and buy/build an appropriate charger.
