Hi, I own one of the earlier Bandido models ( 2x 9 volts and manual GB, simalar looking to Lobo. Laser B models ) and what I would like to know is how to add an automatic GB switch.
Any information regarding wiring in etc would be most appreciated.
Would it be possible to::: find an average site....ground balance....measure pot resistance......fit 2 way switch with coresponding resistor? Anyone had a go at this? Would it work? Thanks Chop
If by "automatic GB" you really meant "preset GB" (they are quite different) then, yes, find your "average" soil conditions, set the GB where you want it, and measure the pot resistance. This assumes the pot is connected as a two-node variable resistor, as it is in the Bandido II uMax.
YES I HAVE done this because I repair metal detectors and I own one of these. It's a VERY easy mod to do, BUT all the files are on my OTHER computer (server) which is in storage until my new workshop and offices are finished in February.
IF you can hang on until then, I can get you ALL the info you need to do this. I will try to get it for you before Christmas, but it will mean a LOT of setting up and then strip down of the computer systems as it is on my server.
I replied to Chopz54 via private email on this matter, I thought he might have posted the results of his (successful as he said) endeavours.
If it ain't rocket science, how come you haven't figured it out for yourself . A smilie after this would have indicated that you were prodding for an action, the way you phrased the question AND the no name, it looks like you are "having a go", something no one on here does

Very true, I have received an e-mail, but alas am unable to post regarding my endeavours, as I am lacking the GB schematic etc, perhaps you have sent one Sean? if you have could send it again please, as I did not get one.
Or a photo of your own Bandido coversion with the relevant info would do.
Many Thanks.
