  • Id control on White's Classic idx ?

I am trying to modify the ID on this detector so that it will be more sensitive and respond to faint signals. I know it is just a matter of switching out a resistor on the board, but which one? Also does any one know about the trimmer that is printed on the board, but is missing on my unit. it is located in the uper right hand corner near the black sand switch.

Open up the meter pod. It just snaps together, just be carefull opening.

Look for resistor #R28, it is a 3,9meg one. Replace it with a 10 meg one.

On the main circuit board, that blank spot for a trimmer is for one that is not needed on your unit. The Classic boards are a universal type, designed to be used in a few different units.

Thanks MR. Bill. I've been in there but had no clue.

Douglas, did you change out the 3.9 meg resistor? I looked in my modded IDX and mine wasn't changed. I'm waiting to hear from MR. Bill. In the mean time what difference did it make? Rob

            An I.D. sensitivity subject

Rob, There is a feature in the menu of the XLT and DFX that alows the user to adjust the sensitivity of their ID. That is what I was asking about. If you choose to do this mod, please post your opinion of your experiment here. If your machine still is working in a few months I may try it on mine. Thank you ahead of time for your help,
            douglas.
