  • coiltek regulator 6.7volt to ??

When i had a gp 3000 i purchased this coiltek 6.7 volt regulator.
I was going to sell it on ebay but i have now decided that i could just convert this to 7.4 volt or 8.5 volt.
A person at coiltek told me that 7.4 volt was the maximum
    Ismael Jones from www.minelabmods.com.au
Had a regulator system that goes from 6.9 to 8.5 volts
So i gather 8.5 would be fine.
    Is this correct?
    Any comment will be appreciated
    Thanks Righteous

Change the resistor that connects from the set pin to gnd for a higher value, do not under any circumstances run the detector at more than 8.5 volts. 7-7.5 gives a great improvement. Older detectors like the SD2000 like 8 volts and it makes a big depth difference.

8.5 volts is fine on the SD2000 but not on the GP3500 max I would use on the 3500 is 7.2 volts its internaly regulated so is no advantage to run higher voltage . Regards Ian.

              Thanks for your input IBGold
Yes i never specified what detector it was for, this must be very frustrating for some people, sorry everyone.
It is to be used for a SD2000
The regulator is now running at 8.5 Volts and here it is.
Thanks again for all your help.
