    MICRONTA MODS

Qiaozhi . Sorry , It was my lazy way of making my words bigger . Right now I have noticed the magnum project , the Eti-1500 and the Altek shadow 300 are sure similar and are all around 15 Khz ??? The authors must of liked that frequency over in the U.K. ?? Or just a strange similarity ? Have a Good Sunday.......Eugene

          MICRONTA MODS

Hello Learner , Yes you will be able to modify your detector that you posted a photo of !!!! The GC-1006. You can do the simple changes that were posted a few weeks ago. Or you can wait for the recent "Radio Shack" thread to post the modification results soon. Also make sure you have some test equipment available. At least a DVM or an oscilloscope would be Great !!! This will make your modifications faster and easier. Later on down the road some of us here will be working on a thread called "Upgrading Your Search-Coil" , but we will worry about that "much later down the road".......Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress.....Do not worry , sometimes the pictures or images do not go through , it is not entirely your fault . There is a size-limit on each type of image or file/type you can post ................Take care.........Eugene

DVM = Digital Volt Meter............pmsl!!.....i got it while looking for oscilloscope.

BTW what size oscilloscope do i need?.It would not have to be big hey?

You know what? Since i have nothing better to do today, i applied those mods on my Micronta, 1 hour ago...and....goood! Working better!
Mods turned uselles obsolete toy to modest and usefull metal detector! Bravo and thanks!
Ok, 2k2 mod secure more TX power, 10e mod more audio power, but most interesting is 2M2 between 1. and 2. pins of 4007! Actually turns non motion detector to a sort of motion detector! Ha,ha,ha!!! Very nice mod! Now i am planing to add a front panel switch on this. To include or exclude 2M2 in/from circuitry. Kind a mode switch.
Depth also improved. Still not so great at coins but much better on medium and large sized items. Audio much better.....overall much better.
This one was fastest&easiest mod i ever saw!
                Bravo!

I dont know. I never saw 4006 model. This mod for 4003 i saw here...recently. Thanks and tributes to one who first posted it here!

Nelson what happened with Gold Bug 2 missing components?

Hi Ivconic and thaks for response.
About gold bug2, i m cofused about how to open it. Looking rigth now i can see a big nut that holds the coil connector to the GB2 case. So i think this is the way to open it, cose i can´t see any other screws to open.
Sorry for my delay on looking my GB2.
I promess that this weekend i ll try to open it i look for missing components in your GB2.
So please, send me again your photos showing the missing parts.
                        Send it to [email protected]
Today i got a Fisher CZ-20. It looks promising, so tomorroy i ll test it. I wich some one have the schematic for this detector. The machine is looking very well made and searching for reviews on the net, 99% percent said that has good deep and discrimination too, so tomorrow i ll get 4 fresh 9 volts batteries to see how it really performs. The only think i dont like, is that you can´t change the coil and also the head phones, but this i think can by fixed in the feature, because i will not use the unit for underwater search.
The bateries i think can be replaced by another kind of source
                        Regards

your question provoked me to start using my brain for a while....
sheeeshh! This looks like some mod added after a while!?
It seems some "expert" did some mod on it!? Look on photo...
Ferrite rod has 2 coils...one coil connected to one end of RX and other on one end of TX...???? What the hell is that?
I got this detector week or two ago. Didnt payed to much attention on it up to recently. Detector is in working condition now. Detects 1e coin at 15cm in air....disc is working..
But now..."hooked" with you question, i did detailed examination and......bull!
This photo is last of previous coil setup. I just reassembled it and removed that idiotic ferrite rod and some extra added windings....bull!
Tomorrow i will balance it again and use only TX and RX without any extra rods and mods....
TX has faraday cage (Al foil). RX dont.
Exactly same coil i saw at MD3007. Same inductances, resistances, wire gauges, diammeters...only bit different coil housing. If you search pages here, you can find my retrace files of MD3007; pcb and components placement.
Comparing that MD3007 and this 4003...i can conclude that MD3007 actually presents newer and in some details improved version of 4003. Same working frequency, same oscillator stage, same few other stages.....minor differences. At MD3007 audio has 3 pitches. As coil closed to metal pitches are changing from lowest to highest. Generally....both detectors are working in same manner..also same performances - lower class...

can you give to me more information about metal detector md3007.
                          quality of capacitor (C36) ?
what's number the around of md3007 coil?

I checked the circuit uses oscilloscope and has seen that the amplitude of a generated signal is equal 1,5 volts. Should be about 10 volts. Probably therefore this detector a little is sensitive and has not the large depth of detecting of metal.
The authors were not interested in this and other circuits in good parameters of detecting.
I was convinced of it when has bought a kit for the metall detector. Long time I tried to search with this detector (IP). But the results were insignificant. Only recently I have learned that the circuit was so adjusted by the author to not see gold Pulse delay was very long.
I wrote that the sound in the ETI1500 does not work correctly. In other circuit (Micronta) it have changed. Though I receive the answer that the circuit is- correct.
