  • JW Fisher Pulse 8X need Help

    Hello,

My name is Tony I'm somewhat new to the forum, been a stalker for a while now I'm coming out of the closet.

Have a bunch of questions but just wanted to get this up for now before my login times out.

Let me first start of by saying I know nothing about electronics, so if you ask ?'s explain to me how to test it properly so I don't blow anything up. I do not have a scope so keep it to a multi meter.

Basically what I want to do is get a little more punch and sensitivity out of it. I can make out #'s on one of the 14 pin chips, #'s on 2 of the op amps ( I think thats what there called). The battery is 7.5 V going into the board. One fet backs it down to 5.98 V, probably for the chips, 7.5 for the rest of the board. The Tx side of the coil is 4.5 V... IF (thats a big IF) I'm testing it correctly. There are 4 wires for the coil so I don't if this is Mono or DD.

Any help would be apperciated, also I'm not against sending to someone if they want to do the mods for a fee, just not overseas.

    Thanks for looking
    Tony

I think it's the "I know nothing about electronics" part, that's keeping people away.
To be honest, without a circuit diagram and a scope, and no knowledge of electronics, it would be wise to leave it alone.

The other alternative is to hope that someone already has a simple mod for this detector, and can supply some step-by-step instructions.

        Good luck!
