I want to change pinpoint mode!!!

Hi to all,
I have an Explorer SE and I want to change the pinpoint mode, as to how it works. This mode on the SE has a function where it locks onto the target which I hate, I would like to get rid of it forever! Without changing damaging anything else.

Does anyone here know anything about the electronics of the SE?

It's not electronics you need it's software. The pinpointing on the exploder is done in software (not very well either).

Not much can be done unless you can extract the original code from the micro, and it would be easier just to write to Lamebin and ask them ( they would say no) but that would STILL be the easiest way.

I know that pinpoint mode is really the all metal mode, it even says that in the manual-not what others say all metal mode is.

It's a shame, maybe the etrac has a proper "pinpoint" mode (called sizing) but it's too expensive and that's all I'd need it for. Discriminate mode is just the digital interface interpreting the signals which isn't always accurate- a lot of falsing.

Keep thy all metal mode holy people! Don't trash it, especially you, minelab!
