hi guys. can anyone tell me is there any other mods tweaks that can be done to the SOVEREIGN XS2a machine other than the silent search and the tone adjustments. what are the other board jumpers for?

One handy mod for the Sovereign XS2 series is to mount an 1/8" mini jack next to the coil connector to allow a remote mode change switch. This way you can hunt in the all metal mode which is more sensitive and then quickly switch to the discriminate mode by pushing a momentary contact push button on the shaft handle. The jack is just wired in parallel with the existing mode switch. When it is in the all metal mode the switch is open. I use a shielded 6 foot long premade cable from Radio Shack to run in parallel with the coil cable going to the switch.

hi bbsailor my machine has the silent search mode fitted to a switch at the front of the box.
i dont think i will be having the remote all metal fitted to mine as i find working in all metal finds the deeper signals but when you switch to disc if the target is out of its reach in disc mode you can't test it anyways.
i have sean the site you mentioned its a good site but it looks like its bean some time since anyone added anything to it.
i love this machine and wouln't part with it but would love to see a mod to give just a little more depth. i know bying a good coil does help but having a good bank balance helps more.....Comment
