I know this thread is about a couple months old. I do not know much about the technical stuff of the SD-2200, BUT a Minelab SD/GP(X) PI machine cannot be turned on inside the house, near power lines, OR NOT EVEN ANYWHERE IN A TOWN OR CITY as it will constantly give warbling and false signals is normal. It must be used in the bush, far from any electrical EMI sources.

BUT I think Woody has a special figure 8(eight) Anti-Interference(Salt) coil for turning these machines in indoors, in town. CoilTek makes Anti-Interference coils. Hope this helps.

Cable from machine to battery was very bad, most probably already changed, because it is not original. And inside cable there are 4 coated litz wires...but very thin!?!? So...plus pole litz somehow broke and one litz probably touched earphone output (deja vu! same thing i had in the past with RH!!! )!!!
            So...hmmmm!
To cut the story....i had a lot of hard labor today, replacing some burned components!
Now SD2200 is alive and kicking like donkey!
I performed some indoor checks and test and must admit it is pretty descent machine! Discrimination is accurate up to 60cm away from coil surface. Over 60cm it "see" every type of metal the same...
Most probably it will perform much different on real soil...
            Must check it outdoor tomorrow..
Conclusion; after all troubles...it is not bad machine at all! It is pretty good and interesting!

            P.S.
It is still nightmare for servicing!!!
Good to see you found the problem.

Agree. But here it was not only "vah vah -ing" from speaker, also it was not detection at all and presets didn't made any change in behavior. Later it turned that few components burned.
Funny thing; once i repaired it, it worked pretty descent indoor too. There were small "mums" when moving coil arround but not so dramatic that good signal could be confused with bad signal...

Mozda ivconic zna o kom se fetu radi posto je ovo isti detektor koji je on reparirao sa feta je totalno obrisana oznaka ?!

It's simple but nobody wants to say nothing hmm nobody knows nor inductance nor resistance even nor connector sd 2200 coil mono coil or dd it looks like tx or rx by the numbers on the connector hmm ?

                        Hello Orbit.

All numbers and letters are gone ? Did you look at sd2000 schematic ? IRF833 is 500v mosfet. I never heard of any 500v mosfet on minelab P.I.
And your photo is not good. It is hard to see where the part is located on the board.
Perhaps Ivconic or Mechanic can help you.

The first is irf 833 ?! So he came to me to it deleted designation and 2x irf 640 tx .
completely behave the same as described above Ivconic ....

Whether the normal consumption 600ma ? Only for the board where the oscillator and chopper boards 1 disconnected I board 2 ? took off diode which leads over capacity the chopper when you connect coil withdraws current oscillator with fet IRF640 -600ma no component not hot transistors IRF640 are normally tepid ,I do not understand what diverts 600ma ? Maybe Mr. Ismail can write something more !

I think we need help from Maikl and WM6 to ease and clarify your input.
Or what diagnostics you have already carried out ?

Remember Ivconic found that one fault was old battery cable. Not just fets. http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...109#post101109

I guess it never worked !
although when I first involved giving some signs groping input pins rx
gave the signs to work ,The next day I turned it on and gave the signs which is the same
when giving Ivica ,I think she's with him at the time of working but stopped suddenly ,
maybe on the second processor pcb brakes?!mainly tx working frequency 4.3khz chopper ok about 160volt but surprising ?!tiles where the processor boards 2 to ground tone itc Once removed tantalum capacity or if it is to increase the capacity of 100yf and more no longer produced tone morez
                                alphabet !
in the picture where the screwdrive It's that tantalum / the voltage on the around 2,5volt
Who knows scheme this will identify the problem a scheme has probably mr.Ismail or Vudi !
