  • Compadre "pinpoint" MOD please

Hello!!, I'm looking schematic to made a pinpoint mod for my compadre!
i've modified my compadre, (GeB, sens boost), but "all metal" or "pinpointing" is missing!
If someone have this mod?... thank you (and sorry for my poor english!!)

    hi STEFY,

yes, you are right compadre has not a schematic part for All Metal mode. as an alternative you can try to add a push knob on Disc pot so that you would be decrease a discrimination level to zero as far as possible. it must work thinking.

    regards

The problem i've is for adjust GEB!! with a pinpointing ( or static mode) it's very easy, (pumping method) but in "motion mode", like compadre, it's hardly!! ( I'm adjust with piece of ferrite, but it's not "the best") If you have a idea??

        brrrr..............
you asked about your pinpointing problem, now you ask about GEB. can you DUE ask what you want?

Ok, i'm try to explain.. I need pinpointing or "static mode" to adjust GEB correctly.
Pumping methode work only on static mode and don't work in all motion mode.
On static mode, with an other detector, you can ear a sound increasing or decreasing when you aproach the head to the earth. and so, you can adjust GEB. In all motion mode, there's no sound, and so, its more dificult to adjust GEB..
Thank you very much, and "sorry for my poor english!!"

ooohhh... probably you are not in course that modern detectors had NOT have the static mode, even in ALL METALL-PINPOINT. what you must do in such case... add meters on first derivative op-amps' outputs and follow what you will see at these. or build schematic like TM-808... it is clear static mode... but very huge one for release...

I know that the static mode tends to disappear in modern detectors and that the setting of ground effect is a preset or done with the aid of a ferrite (eg XP).
experimentally, only the static mode allows fine tuning and fine tuning one can detect small objects such as gold chain and small ring.
A ground effect too high mask this object, and too low will make the detector unstable.
Take the test yourself, and you'd be surprised!
