White's 5000/D Series 2 Mods

Looking at the 5000 board noticed there is an area where extra components could be added.

Just wondering what was added there to upgrade the 5000/d series 2 into a ??? model detector.

Any ideas?

Probably used on the 6000/D as well, so pull the manuals for both and see what the differences were.

From what I have read, they are basically the same unit, the 6000 has the added feature of indicating on the meter the depth of the object found.

Then that's likely what the missing components do.

Yes, the missing parts are for 6000D depth reader...

Yes, schematic shows a option section, for the 6000D S2, for what it calls "depth reader" only for 6000D.

Now that does not mean if you "fill in the blanks" with the missing parts, that it will not work on your metal detector, just that it was an extra option that Whites sold only for the 6000D series 2 detector. I am guessing you will need a new display indicator though also.
