    Re: Ground balance for DeLeon

I recently did that. Did you see the post with pictures on it?

I point out which POT has to be removed, and explain a little on what has to be done. If you need further help, e-mail me.

Adding GB enhances the All Metal Mode. Not sure if it does anything else to the Disc Mode.

No it wont affect the Disc mode, because of the way Tesoro derive the target ID. It's a very crude system and means that the TID and Disco mode have no ground balance.

It is possible they do a little compensation in the micro's software, but I doubt it.

If you look at the circuit Carl posted of the Silver uMax, then it is the same as the DeLeon (all Tesoros are basically the same machine) without a display. The system they use is poor as it falls over on low level signals. What they should do is peak detect both the X and Y signals, then gain shift them using variable gain stages to "normalise" the signals. This would give much better ID at depth.

LMAO just watch Tesoro steal another of my ideas now and claim they've been working on it for a year.

The link to the text comes up when you click but no pix.
Interested in doing the GB mod to my DeLeon but without pictures, I don't know.
Any chance of getting those pix back up?
        Appreciate it,
        Bob
