  • DD coil modification 6.592 kHz?

Has anyone here modified a mono coil configuration to a DD, say 5 x 10 or 6 x 10 configuration? The only DD coil on the market for White's older detectors using 6.592 kHz frequency is the Blue Max 4 x 6. The 4 x 6 is too small for the hunting I want to do; it does not give the depth I'm looking for.

Has anyone tried to modify the Eclipse DD to use only one freq. (6.592)? I know that presently the Eclipse DD comes both ways. One for the DFX (dual freq.) and Spectra V3 (three freq.). If Garrett has a DD Coil for the GTI at 7.2 kHz., why couldn't I modify that one for my older Whites machine? I presently have a 6000/Di Professional (blue box) and would like to get better detection depth and target separation with a DD coil.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    TC-NM

    6.59khz

    Hello,

I am building a test coil now 15 inch dd for my 6000. I had to stop to do a list of honey dooz. I should be posting results in a couple of weeks. I am deciding on a package...probably fiberglass for strength and low weight.

You might be able to get some old coils for that machine. I know that http://www.pedersensintl.com/

carry 6.59khz coils. They have been around forever. I think the owner is in his 80's and is very knowledgeable.
