    Hi guys

There was once a post on how to change headphone sockets on the explorer to the one in the picture (might of been a mono one though)

    Audio socket

Hi Andy, I'll try to explain how to connect them but keep in mind that I'm using my words, I'm not English native speaker so I'll try to do the best......

looking at the plug you'll find 3 pins on the left and 3 on the right. in both sides the first pin is the GND (ground) pin, the second is the right channel and the 3rd is the left channel. The difference between the left side of pins and the right sides is that when you plug your headphones you are routing the audio which comes from the Explorer to the headphones and at the same time you are cutting of the sound of the Explorer speaker, because when you insert a jack into the plug some small metal pieces go up and the sound of the Explorer' speaker is off. When you put off the jack that small metal pieces of the sockets go down and the sound is routed to the Explorer' speaker again. insert jack into the socket and you'll see how it works... Now, for connecting the plug into the explorer you have to follow a schema like that

Note that there is a bridge between the left and right channel, because it¡s mono sound....

    Good luck with your mod.
