Hi all I have done the tests and reported back to Mario and have received from him the upgraded and optimised code for our Australian conditions after a few hiccups I have now reprogrammed the chip and can report that all is excellent and I am impressed it is a very worthwhile project now I can not wait to get out and do some extended testing on the gold fields good work Mario.

      Regards, Ian.

            Got my coil today

            Great job Ian!

It's actually lighter than my stock 10" DD, which surprised me. Haven't done any extended testing but ran very quiet. I can't wait to start using it.

Btw, you can download the last software update from my google account here (FILE). I got tired of opening different accounts, so was happy to discover google offering file hosting service.

It should be the last update for a while, it's the same update Geoff and Ian have on their uCs.

              Hi Mario,

I am glad it finally arrived I can report that the Field testing of your unit will be done next week it had to be delayed due to a medical problem with my wife but the stitches come out tomorrow so she should be fine to go by Friday then nine days in the field so I will report when I get back I will also be testing five new coils and my Electrostatic Concentrator/Dry Blower that I have finally completed after about 10 years of planning/designing so lots to do getting ready.

By the way Stefan also has the same code in his when he finds time to finish it.

              Regards, Ian.

I'm really sorry to hear that about your wife Ian. I hope she recovers fully and soon.

About your concentrator -dry washer, do you have pics? I have briefly thought about designing a dry wasyer. Here in the states, we are not so fortunate with our nuggets. The average size of our nuggets is slightly larger than a match head, so often times, the most productive prospectors are the ones panning the sites.

I've seen some thoughtful dry washers over the years, and its always interesting seeing them. A lot of those can get very elaborate.

One question about your coil, what's the Max voltage that I can use?

                  Hi Mario,

I have just packed the beast up but I do have some early photos while building it but when I get back will send you some pictures of it as it is now, likewise here most of our gold is sub gram the big stuff is very unusual and harder to find as for the coil on the 2000 I run the TX at 8.4volts and at just over 1 Meg the damping resistors get so hot you could not touch them but I have never noticed any problem with any of my coils.

                  Regards, Ian.

                      Hi all,

After a good test with my SD2000M fitted with Mario's device I can report it has found its first gold a 2.26 gram bit in heavily worked ground so I was impressed I also found that each coil I tried with it had a definable sweet spot not always where I expected it to be found by using my test pieces and sweeping through the frequencies to find the most sensitive position for each target it was eye opening below is a picture of the nugget.

geff12 it is a must have.

                      Regards, Ian.

But no-one else can. I suspect you are pointing to an image on your own computer.

Interesting. I can see the photos using Firefox but not when I use Internet Explorer where I just see an icon.
