    Hi Geo,

    it is here:

    http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showp...1&postcount=14

There is 4 wire US-phone-modem cable that connects the unit with battery-case including speaker. I can give you more details if you want.

It's really great if you make this mod, too!

btw. you can order the complete package (GTI1500 with 45cm Excelerator coil) for 747 Euro at Bulgaria:

or with very good service and 3 years warranty from Austria: www.nuggets.at

      Hi Funfinder.
      Thanks for reply and photos
I have a GTI2500 and i want to modify it because is very heavy.
I'll put the battery in the belt of the trousers and i will hang the screen on the neck. So it is much more lightweight and independent. But i should grow the wires of the coils

        Hi Geo,

        thank you for the reply.

You are absolutly right, without mod those Garrett GTI's are too heavy, even with small coil.

Your GTI2500 has around the same depth as the GTI1500 but has better features (manual groundbalance and more).

However the 45cm Acelerator coil is a must have for both, otherwise the depth is not good enough. I hope you already have or will buy this coil, it's a huge improvement.

Here you can see the GTI2500 with 45cm:
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqIcnpfF3Vc

Below you can see some pictures.

First dismount the detection unit from the holder.
There are some screws below the holding-rubber but
you also have to open the detection unit carefully.

The display-circuit-board is attached by some jumpers with the boards below where the cable conector is soldered.
There is also the flatribbon cable for the LCD connected.

Believe me, it is much better if battery and display unit are close together. You can try with battery at belt, but in this case you need to get out the long modem cable from the holder and you will have 2 instead just 1 cable around your body.

The coil cable must be at least 1m more long. You can use even some stable coax cables for this, no problem.

This whole lightweight hang detector around the neck combi with GTI1500 or GTI2500 and 45cm coil gives really very good searching comfort over a very long time, super depth for large and very small items plus much better discrimination than a P.I. has. And the used standard AA 1.5v mignon cells or 1.2v accus are very practical while searching at areas without electricity for rechargers.

Geo, I wish you good luck with the mod, tell me your progress and if you need additional informations!
