  • upping khz on minelab xs pro

My minelab advantage xs pro runs on 5khz..A lot of detectors now run a lot higher (up to 17 khz) more sensitive to small gold, silver like cut quarters....Have heard of a detector that has been upgraded from 17khz to 20 khz...does anyone no of how,or where to up the running khz to a higher rating...
    Many thanks

Where did you "hear" of this upgraded detector? UKDN by an chance?

it is possible, but you would probably have to make you own coils and change quite a bit in the front end of the machine. Not sure if the Tx frequency on the Muskteer is "hard" generated (using Xtal and divider) or is a Colpitts oscillator (or the like).

If someone posted a schematic it would be a starting point. Better to just go out and buy an XP Goldmaxx though!

sell you musketeer on ebay and pick up a 50 khz a White's goldmaster 2 or above for less. I have many friends with old manual balance gold masters doing very well with small gold. Coils are easy to make for them.

            LMAO!!

Mention UKDN and they run away..Could it be because that forum is inhabited by Trolls and Want-wits (in 99% of what I have seen so far)!

UKDN..So full of "experts" who know jack about detector technology. Take a look there and you will see what I mean.
