I found this a week ago here, but I can not find anywhere this transistor MJE5742. Can I use someone zmestitel, RF740, RF640 or someone similar?

As one of the ways to shield coils I am using:
- put some insulation layer over the coil (paper tape or polyethylene which is better [less capacitance] than paper tape [epoxy will stick to it])
- strip silver plated multi strands wire and spiral wind it over insulation with step 0.5 - 1 inch.
- you have to make a gap (not to connect ends)
- mix graphite powder with epoxy 1:1 by weight.
- cover all surface except 5-10 mm gap (!!!)
- connect wire to ground (or to power "+" rail if in your schematic coil is connected to "+")
Or you can buy a shielding tape. (synthetic cloth covered by cooper than nickel)
Remember, you have to make a gap.
Do not use aluminum or cooper foil because it acts like a target.
