I bought the book and studied it . Very Mediocre stuff if you ask me ! I mailed the writer twice and was never answered . That must be good manners in their opinion . Instead of two PI detectors , I noticed only ONE in the book ! The desciption of the DBP 2010 in the book can be considered very badly done and lacking any clear explanation . I think the book was written to promote the sales department of the writer . The big coil is NOT properly described .You just have to guess what it is all about . Furthermore I wonder what C7 in the schematic is going to be ? Either 22 nF or 220 nF ? You guess ! Is connection 30/31 = block 3 ? T4 and T5 should be turned as we know by now . The copper side of the print of the Module is mirrored so watch - out . The connections on P4 are wrongly drawn ( very sloppy in my opinion ) . C5 and C10 have parallel capaciters drawn without proper explanation . Is there anybody that has discovered some more in this shotty work ? Please let me know . Instead of the 2N series you could use for T1 T2 = BC 546 . T3 T4 = BC 556 . T5 = BC 879 and T6 BC 327 . I have built the test detector but it does not work . Must be me I guess . Regards Kees

Re: DBP2010
If you mean "Das Kompendium der Metalldetektoren" - the book is known to be somewhat... let's say "imperfect". Have a look at http://www.pulsdetektor.de/disc1_frm.htm, subject: Kommentar zum Buch: Das Kompendium der Metalldetektoren" Walter 03 Feb 2002

Re: DBP2010
Pawel . I am working on a way to get at least a workable detector schematic . It can , or should not be so that someone writes a book which content is contrary its claims . Lets try to get the mistakes out and with a good errata list at least get something that works . We paid for the book did'nt we ? A lot of people may get discouraged thinking they do something wrong when building this detector while all the time the mistakes could be in the info in the book . I count on the help of Mr.Rolf Wilhelm to get to the bottom of it all . I will let you know what can be done and in howfar I will get the help of the writer of this project . Kees

Re: DBP2010
Hallo Kees!
Please excuse my bad English. I'm from Austria.
Someone I know from a finds forum (Heimdall) also tried to built this detector.
He also had big troubles with it. He called the author.
He told him also to turn the T3 on the "Modulplatine"
Also the circuit of the "Modulplatine" is wrong. T1..T5 are NPN not PNP as drawn.
And don't use 1N4481 right is 1N4181.
I hope I could help a little bit.

Re: DBP2010
Danke Norbert . The diodes 1N4481 have already been changed in the Dutch version of the book . The Transistor story also has been rectified . Also C7 is now set at 220nF and not at 22nF as in the schematic . So many stupid errors in this book that I have asked Mr. Wilhelm to send me a schematic as HE uses , so I can check for myself . So far no cooperation from him . Let's see what develops . I bought his book ! I want straight value for my money . Or .... am I asking too much ? Kees

Re: DBP2010
Rudi . I am sure working to get the possible mistakes out of the book . I have informed the publisher of some of them . My request to Mr. Wilhelm is to send me the schematic , as HE use in his production line . So far NO answer from him . Hope we can get this detector built one day without having to buy all the stuff from ROWI . Kees
