What is the difference in these 2 PI kits

I am a newbie to this forum and I have ? on 2 kits that on the the web. There is Surf PI 1.2 sold by silverdog and SM PRO PI sold on EBAY . I looked at parts list and they look similar but the tolerances looked better on the on on EBAY . Is one better than the other . Also beside a soldering iron any other tools that are needed . One other ? , can you use factory coils with these kits or do you have build coil .

Yes Basically the Same, Just different Board Layouts.

I too was looking at the ones at Ebay. So these are basically silverdogs just a different layout?
How can or do these units compare to a Minelab say when used on ground. Do they need a manual ground balance like my Whites Goldmaster?

None of the PI kits available have ground balance as standard.

Have a look at the Minipulse Plus design (kits available from Silverdog) in the Projects section. In particular, look at the completed projects - #7 KRinAZ - which is a modified version used for searching in the Arizona desert.
