Hi,I'm not sure what you mean but I'll explain something.
It's not a "on and go" pinpointer.
But I have built a lot of them with a good stability.
I mean when you turn on for the first time, after 15 seconds it so stable
that you only every 2-3 minutes must regulate a little.
Not necessarily. Integration can be asymmetric, and also time dependent, so it can maintain optimum sensitivity.
Once the stability is reached, integration can be slowed down by factor, say 100, and in effect no sensitivity is lost, and long term stability is maintained.
It would make a design more complex though.
I hope it. But I think it will be very difficult when the sensitivity should be maintained.
You can find similar principles in "motion detection" metal detectors like same old Surf PI. It has good sensitivity but you need to move it to detect target because it is auto tunes all the time and once you stop moving it nulling target signal. But because that auto adjustment it can adopt fast changes in the ground conditions.
So you can hear a small target between two sand bumps on the ocean bottom even if signals from such bumps are stronger than target signal.
Non motion detector will have problems to find such target masked by environment changes because it keeps some constant level.
To make a good auto tuning you have to choose proper time constant for your circuit from part of second to several seconds which it needed for signal to self adjust to null.
Also front and end of signals can have different time constants. I like to put diode to make end faster and let circuit to be ready to read the signal again faster. You can try.

That is much advanced level than usual self adjustment!
What is the problem not to make the advanced "Davor's Nupi pointer" many will want to wait to make it.
The first will be Wakiki_Sweep.
I am so sorry, I have everything except counters so I have ordered counters by "snail mail".
Unfortunately my version is not expected soon.
I bet Davor will buld something interesting much faster than I will get my parts by mail.

It's on the slow boat from china? I hate that, I get going on a project then have to
order a part and wait weeks for delivery...Sort of kills the momentum.
Snail mail is a sort of rhyming slang. It refers to the normal postal mail which
will get it there in 14 days or so even if you pay extra for fast service. It's as
slow as a snail thus "Snail Mail".
You're an excellent explainer Silver Dollar.
I like you.
Now I understand why WaiKikiriki never build circuits.
If the parts come he's forgotten where he wanted to use it.
