burnt diode on vandal pulse 2

Hello
Hooked up the wrong polarity on vandal pulse 2 this morning for about 5 seconds and looks to have fried the diode! Could I have done more damage than just the diode? Would it be possible to replace it? I have intermediate experience soldering. Could someone take a guess as to what specifications that diode would be?

Vandal Pulse 2 is an excellent deep seeking pulse detector. Picks up 12 oz alum can at about 3 ft. How does that compare to your Delta Pulse? What' the price?

You seem disturbed about something. Maybe its because you don't have a schematic for the Vandal Pulse 2. Delta pulses have been around for years. Delta pulse schematics can be found anywhere. It seems we both have "vettes", except yours is a chevette and mine is a corvette so to speak as far as the detectors go. What distance will you delta pulse pick up a 12 oz alum. can? I dug a hole in a sand dune as deep as I could with some post hole diggers. Hole turned out to be 5.5 ft deep. In the bottom I placed four 12 oz alum. cans. Then reburied, Vandal Pulse 2 detected with strong signal. Maybe could have picked up at 6 or even 7 ft. What's the price of your delta pulse with schematics and directions and all?

what TX power gives your Vandal detector? Delta Pulse has 500usec IMPULSE WIDTH max, ie power is 500 Watt in impulse.

I don't know how these thing work and I really don't care. All I know is that Im really satisfied with how well the Vandal Pulse 2. And it does work really well, or it did, until I hooked it up wrong. my bad. I'll ge it fixed and I'll stick with it.
