        • Hopefully, we can get some pictures here of new builds and results / videos of external tests now ...

          • Hi,
How much current does the circuit drain ?
I'd like to make it waterproof for scubadiving,
Is it possible to make a program version without audio, just a +5v output when detecting to power a phone vibrator ?
            Thanks for your great work.

              • Nice work, keep us informed about test results !

                Thanks,

                • So I've got all parts but the Pickit3 programmer. Didn't want to wait so I used Pickit2 to program the chip.
Since the PIC16F1824 was missing from the list of supported devices I tried to update the list (here is the new file list).
Pasted it as C:\Program Files (x86)\Microchip\PICkit 2 v2\PK2DeviceFile.dat (keep the original one too, just in case).
                  And it worked!

                      Hi all
                      Hi Bernard
Hère s my not finished pikini rod ans enclosure .
As you can see i have to connect battery pack plug at the back side(near pinpoint switch plug)
In front side on\off switch, led, sens pot,ear jack.(ear phone volume set by pot allready incorporate on wire headphone)
Thé rod Weight is aprox 200-300 gr (rod only! Without battery pack , pikini box ans coil)
Tell me what you think about this (sorry for the color of rod pièces this was old 3d printer wire left) i can ,maybe ,do sôme improvement?? Give me sôme idea please.
                      Thank you all

                      • Nice work
Consider mounting the battery pack under the arm cuff as counter weight for the coil => better balance.
Avoid any metal at least 40 cm from the coil - consider a carbon fiber lower stem e.g. cheap fishing pole...
Using the arm cuff profiles opposite as detector stand is a nice touch

I assume the round thing on top of the PCB is a piezo buzzer ?

                        Best regards,
                        - Bernard

                        • Hi all
                          Hi bernard
Yes battery pack will be under thé arm cuff, touching thé opposite arm cuff, battery will be mounted on slidders so you can take it off to charge it
Thé lower stem will be carbone tube now i have to finish my coil!!!(hard thing to do for me!!!!!)
Thé round thing is effectively a speaker but not a piezzo ,it Côme from home telephone
                          Sending foto nearly

                            • All parts is ready, what is the best requirement coil?

                              Comment

                              • A coil that is simple to make is a 20 cm (8") diameter bundle coil -- 27 turns of isolated litze wire. This should be 300-350 microHenry.
Then a layer of electrical tape.
Then alu foil shielding all around except for a gap of 1 cm / 0.5" - do not short the shielding all around.
Then another layer of insulation tape to hold it all together.
Then you can pot it into some sort of shell. Like I described for Pickini V3 here:

                                http://users.telenet.be/willaert/MD/pickini/pickini_en/V3/coil.html
