i would like to try this build. Read all posts in this thread ,downloaded necessary files from link dantech suggested ,studying the schematic found some components missing ,i guess that those are the "unneeded" parts after the modification...Regarding the MCU i had an Atmega328 - not 328P - laying around my workshop ,wonder if this will work??I attached my STK500 loaded the hex file "main_en_ltd_m328" , fuses Extended=0xFF - High=0xD9 - Low=0xF7 and programmed the mcu without any fault messages .I have seen from another forum a guy selected totally different fuses ,only high and low same ,i guess for another hex..

Anyway ,engraved a test pcb out of "mainboard_keyboard_by_ozzy123_2nd_ChancePI_mod(3) " lay file (is this a working pcb???) and waiting for parts to try this build..A thing should be onboard is the ISP port for onboard programming as the original Chance..

Hello again!

Finished my pcb,all seems to work out so far except some malfunction (on my board)....The pcb version i used as i mentioned before was "mainboard_keyboard_by_ozzy123_2nd_ChancePI_mo d(3) " found on dantech's website.



At first i couldnt source the 4.7uH/1 Ohm inductors so i used 3.9uH/1 Ohm..Removed all coper regarding the ommited parts,programmed the mcu (Atmega328 not 328P) and all good so far.

Against designer's advice,i put all the ic's on the pcb and for some reason the L78L05 was too hot,output measured 3.3V,didnt find any short circuit on 5V traces so i replaced it with an 7805 that seems to work great but the outcome was a faulty mcu and a faulty LCD.
Programmed another,all work great,i can see the output pulse on pin 14 and the clock for the adc on pin 19.Connected an lcd and a keyboard and went through the menu's..I used S1=Left S2=Right S3=Up S4=Down S5=OK S6=Menu but noticed most of the time the Menu/Esc button didnt function at all..Also,most of the times during power on it went on voltage setting screen,im thinkink there must be my fault with the keyboard construction..I could validate that all changes made to frequency measured on the o'scope.I didnt connect coil and the Rdump.Also noticed the Vp-p of the 5534 output was low comparing to the MPP or the CB i have and it has gain 470,is it enough??

While taking measurements to see the ripple of 7660 (SPAZ variant - ripple below 20mV) i noticed the lcd stopped working and displayed faulty pixels,it was a Raystar 5V 1602,tried a second one also 5V and after about 15 minutes the LCD went out also..Measured the LCD controllers voltage on pins 1-GND and 2-5V the voltage was very steady and the mcu keeps working normally (all pulses)..I'm waiting for a new LCD to finilise my build as soosn i can figure out why it keeps burning the LCD controller..

Any thoughts?

pustareka's schemaic is CLONE PI, not CHANCE. CHANCE did show bad result and was closed as a project.
