Just went over it with Paint. Will try to make thin board later. I have Two ATmega328P-PU with Boot Loader on them I can play with . Just us a Uno to Program them. Thinking with just the Atmega, Chrystal and 7805 can get things quite small.

looks like there is no room for the trimmer i did move it down a bit in the new post also i did with the strip board or you can just use a resistor
also if you have a scope it easy to set
int SampleDelay = 120;
set that using 50us you can work it out set it to the most reactive part once you have trimmed it outComment

I designed the pcb of the pinpointer with atmega328p, I share it but I have not yet had the opportunity to build and test it.
I took the liberty of modifying kosacid's code,
I replaced the led with the buzzer using the felezjoo pi scheme and changed pins to avoid dual layer
it should work fine on both 9 volts and 12 volts
the 500k trimmer is from the 3386u series but the 3296 version should also fit
