  • 7905 is a simple voltage regulator and not a negative voltage converter.

This has been spoken about many times , who ever drew the schematic got the 7905 symbol a bit skewwhiff
if you move the ground symbol inside the box up to the +12v leg it works

        Somebody attempted to relabel it

          • Sounds as though the Gerber files are not going to surface on this project.

            • Hi Alec,,,The gerbers can be extracted from the Layout file that Walkman posted if you have Sprint layout? If you don't have it I could extract them for you and post them. I've searched for the XL 500 Gerbers by Dbanner but can't locate them on the forum. Regards, Marty.

You need to add the board outline to those Gerber files. otherwise it will be rejected by the PCB manufacturer.

Thanks for that Marty. Are you going to do a build?

                            • Hi all,,,,I may build it at a later date but not just yet as I've been really busy with repairs to the house that aren't fully finished yet and I still have my Voodoo to complete. I've already built tons of 'P.I's' that all work great but as you know I don't drive and the nearest beach is 2 hours away so I've been trying to concentrate on my VLF builds, and the Voodoo, so I have more success with 'Inland' detecting. Like I said, I may build it later even if it's just to add to my growing collection of P.I's and maybe learn something new along the way. Regards, Marty.

                              • Good Morning Walkman.
would you have a sketch of the connection of the potentiometers? I would like to build one of this for the beach so I'm going to make this version.
                                I thank the attention. thankful
