Yes, a small magnet will help detect iron-rich black sand, but that is a different issue to detecting in conductive salt water at 8uS.

I found the TDI to be a bit unstable in wet salt sand at 10us. This is recalling from 10 yrs ago. However, the Impulse that Fisher is developing will easily run 8us even in the running surf. The difference may be in the quality of the coil shielding. The Impulse shielding is a lot better than the TDI.

I have to share my impressions of TDI sl I did it before my version which are similar but not exactly the same i like the exceptional smooth threshold high stability and conductivity mode which really provides the ability to select the desired target we are looking for the depth is satisfactory to me which is somewhere Eclipse wrote one of the best detectors ,offers the possibility of searching for coins and also for searching for larger metals .Watching Fisher impulse that's 1: 1 TDI sl to search for coins 8us it means nothing at all I can bet that Fischer used 90 percent of the same scheme from TDI maybe some changes in the front and raised low frequency audio parts say c 58 xxuf reduced to xx0nf ,I don't think I'm wrong.
