Eric Foster Pulsepower Goldquest Aquasearch V2 PI Metal Detector
Hi Ferric--that's awesome that you are having a look at it. 5 miles--maybe start a Trans Atlantic...
Been through three cases with that board not surprised there's some black in the cable. Seepage...part of life--especially at our age...
4 feet is fine I can get a White's wand for it--better for the hardware anyhow. These machines are making me crazy--2 DF's both with leaker coils or something they go into this no detection Hummmm at the preset delay --every single one of them. Talk to Bill Lahr a lot (yesterday in fact) a pet peeve of us both. Thanks again for getting to it--that and the GQ favorite detectors of a ridiculous number owned...
Kind Regards clive
I would suspect that the Dual Field coils rely on the sealing of the two halves being cemented togther without any voids. Coils for use in water are best potted in resin which gives strong barrier even if the outer shell is not fully sealed. I resin potted a 12" coil in a DF shell and just used the lower half of the shell as a skid plate as it clips on quite firmly. Using lightweight resin, the coil is still light, but negatively buoyant.
Interesting. Bill's Theory involves the hardware area molding he's approached them about it but been ignored. Love the performance but would never get another one --shame it's becoming common knowledge hope that he new ones (BHTDI) have some kind of improvement. Getting one back this week theyve replaced the coil, board and two pots! At least the shell was still okay.... sorry call em like I see em--not the first either at $200 a pop...
