I would like your opinion if we would had a transmitter 270hz pulse width 220us and used DD coil diameter 40cm ,your opinion of the pulse width S1 and S2 and their distance in order to react as little as possible to the impact of soil ?

Well, PI is not good for 40cm high-speed sweeping. 200 u sec = 1/5 sec -
if you sweep fast this 1 pulse each 30cm with stem 1,5 meter which is a good length.
If you like it low-pace than it's OK if it detects deep enough
and you have no problems to dig all-metal - any-metal.
I personally could not work with such slow pulses cause this
would be just a huge waste of time inclusive missing all the stuff inbetween
the "no energy"-gaps.
