Why not try a hand held survey magnetometer like a GA-52CX? A large ferrous body should detect well with it - just point and shoot(dig). They resell well on ebay so little risk in trying one out.

Here is what they always use for deep search - a very large mono coil mated to various PI detectors. In this case they're using borrowed hardware from another professional meteorite hunter because their equipment was "lost" in transit to Sweden. They find a lot of deeply buried big irons in this video.:

In that search they are using an older Lorenz Deepmax X. Here's a newer version costing $6,999. You can understand why I don't want to spend that kind of money on a long-shot search unlikely to produce results.

he say about DP 'this detector is 6 years old. it has the vitality into all conditions'.

For now, since I already have the PCB and most parts, I'll just be playing with my Hammerhead D1 and large coils indoors only until it warms up in the Spring. I hate cold weather.

TM-808 is VLF, a static part of schematic of whites 5900 di pro. i do not know what they use.
maybe PI with splitted coil, maybe VLF. there was a project of balanced VLF but
with balancing additional coil. i do not see it here. it can also tx halfsinus project.
TM-808 is balanced system by PERPENDICULAR placement of coils, that you do not want to notice.

went on link given me by this guy. ok. those boards MG-17 https://vk.com/metaldetection?z=phot...69581_00%2Frev
reading the comments it is PI detector.

This device is gradually moving from development to testing, video can be viewed below by links:
ANNOUNCEMENT
FIRST TESTS
Principle of operation:
МГ-17 operates on impulse induction. Short pulses of low frequency current (200 Hz) are created in the transmitting coil, which create a primary magnetic field. It causes currents on the surface of the target metal object, which decay exponentially, creating a secondary field, and it is detected by the receiver of the device. Then, directly from the receiver, the signal is transmitted to the processor and matchmaking takes place. Such direct digital processing made it possible to obtain high stability and selection of "black-color." The rate of attenuation of currents in the metal depends on many factors. First of all, from the specific conductivity of the metal and from its shape and thickness.
This is used to cut off small objects, since in them the current attenuates much faster than in large ones. Therefore, the reception is delayed to cut off the metal fines.
Depth and stability of detection is achieved due to pulse technology of spool search and separation.
There is also a ground balance and slow auto-adjustment, this allows you to get rid of the search interference that is characteristic of static mode.
This is a very easy to operate device, on the principle of "on and off." Adjustment during operation does not require, but if necessary, you can change the threshold and volume. He is not afraid of hooks of the frame against the bushes, that is, there are no false positives from hooks, and even more so when walking.
Depth of detection of some objects:
Helmet German М-35 1.7 m
Gas mask tank xxx m
Shovel Fiskars big xxx m
Canister 20 liters 2.5 m
These results for the standard air test in the field (it makes no sense to check in the room due to interference).Attached Files

Yes Delta Pulse is the obvious choice.
More than enough infos on Geotech.
Pulse Star II (not Pro version) is my present choice.
One of the reasons is because i made so much Delta Pulse copies that am totally annoyed to repeat it again, but it is good!
Other reasons can be sublimated in few words; Delta Pulse is just great, but PS II (not Pro) works slightly calmer and more stable.
And PS 2 is much simpler to adjust and operate.
With same size coils; both are very close to performances.
...
I knew it was Sweden. Many years ago man from Sweden contacted me. Mr. Thomas Osterberg.
Later on it turned he was a very experiences meteorite hunter.
At the time he used PS2 Pro and reported certain instability with it on the sites.
I don't know why is that; but it appears that PS2 is more stable than PS2 Pro.
