Sucessfully completed steps 1,2,3, fitted parts step 4 after reading another forum on your site with connections i was getting over 400v across damping resistor however i wasn't sure where to connect to for adjusting it across the damping jig nothing seemed to change when i turned the pot ,then fitted parts to step 5 and think it dropped a few millivolts but not sure as it fluctuated a bit i am using a hantek 6022be and had to use a 100X probe as a 10X probe wouldn't work overload anyway then fitted step 6 parts and went back to checking damping resistor really need help here with connections for starters with the coil itself is there a positive and a negative ie: outside mono coil connection and inside mono coil connection which is Rx which is Tx which should i use for PL1 center pin and is the damping resistor connected only on this side or is it connected to the other side which i presume would be negative i believe you connect pin 2 of PL1 to pin 2 of PL2 and one side of coil to negative don't understand the loop between TX and Rx in the picture mono coil do you connect them together at the coil i have connected screen to PL1 pin 1 need good discription of connections i am pulling of all mine apart and reconnecting with your advice i am using 2 --- 50 Ohm coax cables one to outer coil connection and one to inner coil connection maybe i have damping resistor setup wrong using 10K pot and 200R in parallel with 2K all 2 watt resistors is it on one side of coil or across the coil ? do you connect both side together at the coil or just int 2 PL1 and PL2 pin 2 confused i hope my oscilloscope can handle it all i have done a few other projects before but this is the most complicated i have tried hoping to get it working i currently have damping jig accross the resistor connection on the pcb please help Graham.
