    I got the drawing from a group, and I redrew the clear version. I haven't done any tests, but the video posted by its owner shows it detecting close to 1 meter in the air, and the test item is something the size of a coin.

      It is a good choice to use it as a toy.

              Hi,
              One of the reasons why the PI can detect a coin in air at 80cm might be because the detector is running on 18V. And maybe the coil is perfect adjusted to the TX circuit.

                The Prirate PI is a nice simple PI detector. With the right coil adjustment and PI settings every PI detector posted in this forum should be able to detect coins at this distance (in air) as claimed by the Prirate PI. Probably the coil and how it was made plus the right adjustments are the secrete.... not the detector circuit itself.

                @Zoujiarui
                Do you have informations about the coil and how it was made?

                  There is zero chance of it being able to detect a coin at that distance. 80cm is 31.5" ..... unless the coin is the size of a dustbin lid.

                  If it's the video I saw on youtube, then the ruler is marked in centimeters, not inches. The largest coin was detected at 35cm, which is 13.8".

                    Ah yes, the old dustbin lid coin trick.

                        To be clear, I meant no insult to great Chinese people. They are fantastic.
                        I simply point out that there are coins the size comparable to dustbin lid, which can be found in the ground using the legendary pirate metal detector.

                          I uploaded the video I recorded. I didn't try it.

                            Its coil is nothing special.

                              pirate is experimental project from russian. nothing has to be with the good 'real' detectors' field.
