So it's very easy. If you have got oscilloscope and power supply.
My test configuration is like attached picture.

      • thank you for attention to my layout. yes, its best, no doubts. i suggest you to do turkish layout that onesided and free.
        russians do turkish and sell.
in price of my board is laid my constant consultation. sometimes it's at huge nerves wasted, as with the pakistani. that part, consultations,
is unfortunately invisible for outsiders but really engages 80% of the price.

        pleasure

VCO on 555 working good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mo_khvsSvg
do not see a reason to rego on PIC based VCO.

You can increase VCO sensitivity just only by lowering R37 resistance to 100-200 Ohm. As variant place aditional 200-470 Ohm resistor in paralell with R37 - this will increase current wich produced by current source on T9 transistor (look circuit)
I already do this in my DP unit.

                • I have done a test, ne555 needs to increase by 10mv, the audio output has a slight change, but I want to increase its voltage by 1mv, the output frequency will change, which is conducive to improving sensitivity

If you want to experiment, you can add amplifier with 10 x gain + filter and finaly drive VCO.
This idea not mine it was already posted here on forum. Here is my re-drawing.

Ok . thus again delta pulse is number 1.
Some design must be test but delta pulse is also perfect
