Metal pipes have water heat dissipation, so there is no need to consider excessive temperature

but what about excessive pressure inside?

and how you imagine the size and the shape of 150W transformer in 20mm tube?

E42 ferrite case in 20mm tube, how this is possible?

Perhaps you could give us some further info on your requirements ?
Does the output need to be isolated from the input ?
How much ripple on the output is acceptable ?
Where is your 12V originating from ?

Very good questions Olly! Maybe this project is in very raw stage.

Input and output need to be isolated with a transformer, 12v from the battery pack, do not consider the ripple problem, it is a high-voltage generator

To make MOS tubes and transformers work at their limits,

In order to reduce the volume, we must choose a high-current, low-internal resistance mos tube, as well as a highly efficient transformer core, the operating frequency can not be too high, can not exceed 35khz,

Given your requirements for isolation and low operating frequency of only 35kHz, I'm extremely doubtful that it would be possible to design a 300W converter which will fit into the small space that you have available.

                            Hi Olly,
It is very clear that jeep6789 is too young in electronics - that's way hi needs a help in this serious project.

If you do not isolate, or do not limit the frequency, can the purpose be achieved?
