  • Goldscan 4 Differences between the schematic and The circuit board

    Hello everyone
I found some differences between the schematic of Goldscan 4 and This circuit board
Do I need to change something or the circuit board is correct?
Unfortunately, I wanted to upload a lay6 file but I am not allowed

I am the person who did the reverse engineering of the original Goldscan 4 PCB. Since it was drawn from an original working PCB, you can trust it. I seem to remember some confusion with the FET pinouts. I don't recall exactly. It was couple years back.

I'll try to find my Lay.6 file and compare it to what you have.

Pack your lay file in a zip or rar file for upload.

2N3906 pinout is supposed to be EBC, however on the layout it is showing ECB, which tells me that it is not a 2N series transistor, but some other small signal transistor. If you figure this in, then it will match up with the schematic.
It is probably a 2SA or BC series transistor.(PNP)

Unless there is a 2N3906 transistor with a TO92A package which is ECB.

OK, I think I know what happened. When I drew out the pcb layout, I used this schematic GS-4 1.pdf to label most of the components. Obviously a 2N3906 does not correspond to the footprint on the layout, but this is trivial oversight. It is some other small signal transistor with ECB pinout footprint. I think the same might apply to the JFET's footprint, you'll have to check those yourself.

                  Thank you for the explanation.

You can upload any kind of file if you zip it first.

Well done, that's what I meant. I compared it to this schematic.
