        cs6 pi

I would think that this is right up Headshed22's alley! You anywhere about Russell?????? Anyone at all got a CS6 that they can pull apart and take a look? Cheers, Dwt

Ok,as mention before,I have a new pcb, created by gerber files from here,The issue with incorrect tracks layout an 14 pin to 16 is corrected an the track error to leg of fet,is corrected also.
now all components are loaded an soldered carefully into the double sided pcb.Ive tried to ensure that both top an bottom tracks are soldered accurately.
the issue is the unit doesnt work! not a peep? only faint click thru speaker on switch on.
Ive noticed an tested in preliminary checks that the audio output transistor BC214 pnp is increase in temperature to 100c alarmingly to critical after switch on.ready for destruction at this temp!
Ive traced the track layout top to bottom many many times,as per all the pics an data here!all apears ok. trackwise an with no solder bridges, viewed thru x5mag lens.
Ive used a thermal probe over all the components to check hot spots an this is it!
By the way i do have a working CS6 as a comparison, thanks to good forum friend Draco.this unit works well an probe over this working component BC214 audio output results in 23c degree running temp.
          Whats wrong here??
Ive replaced the Bc214 audio transistor an configure the base an collector pins around the oposite way with no result at all?
then again another new replacement as per original with same Hot result!
Ive built another complete new PCB Again a No2 with again all new components, exactly same result?
Ive had another Technician check an Proof the track layout for all!
Working purchased unit, both gerber created pcb,all schematics an pics from Here!
Nothing untowards was found all apears ok.
Now their must still be a lurking ,Critical Fault in the Gerber created boards.
Has anybody else Here at Geotech ,created an built a working pcb an unit from these files an what was found??
          Any ?
I notice the earlier posters in these threads here, dont seem around any longer,or dont respond.
Maybe there is just no interest in a project that dont work?
          thanks Rov

interesting comment i did see. i did notice time ago goldquest SS is too similar to cs6, same amount of IC's and transistors.
            so now you know answer.

            Hi Dwt,

The CS6PI is similar circuitry to the Beachscan, both of which were made some years ago now. A later development is the Goldquest which has also gone through two or three versions. The major changes since the CS6PI is the ability to sample at 10uS, the addition of a variable SAT control, and a switchable two stage autotune filter, plus you can use DD coils for all but highly mineralised ground. What you need therefore is the addition of ground balancing to the latest Goldquest system. Hmmm!

See the latest Goldquest SS v3 details by clicking on the Surfscanner banner above.

            Eric.

Also waterproof version, Goldquest Aquasearch. Peak current for all, 0.2 Amp. Lower inductance coils for Goldquest ss versions. They had lower minimum sample delay than Beachscan.
Beachscan and CS6 used 1mH coils. 6000 PPS. (Although I did read somewhere that Goldscan coils could be used on the Beachscan.)
Goldquest ss versions (and Aquasearch) ran at 10 000 PPS.

And the exception was the very early Goldquest which shared same pcb as Goldscan - there was even a repair thread here on Geotech a year or two ago. Exact same pcb and housing as Goldscan, but with GB channel timing components unpopulated. And no Target Signal meter. Guess the very early Goldquest was non-motion ?

ok guys, i offer you exchange - you give me your files in CAD i give you mine, on DP, Bara or King Cobra on your choice.
i need from you - schematic file, layout file, net file, your library file.

                  to Erol

thank Erol for file. but i do not able to use it. point is that i do not use Sprint Layout for tracing. one case i use SL is only for scaling, it is great possibility. but thats all. i do not know why while you are so very talent people, with high IQ, I believe, do not able use P-CAD, OrCAD or something like that? in our world is normal to use more advanced CADs,
but russians even do not write and do not speak english but they use english SOFTs always while you write in english so perfectly vs them.

WHY RUSSIANS ARE MORE TALENT THAN YOU?

i give you DIRECT link on diptrace. PLEASE, i say again - PLEASE - DO PCB IN MORE ADVANCED PRODUCTS, do not waste
your time on easy one - ! and forget SL like you had forgot your ex-wife.

yes bruce, that's a bit of a problem with the 3rd party cscope schematics.
you need as many different ones you can find for your device, and even then use them as a fact checker for you own investigations.
