Have been busy while waiting to order my oscilloscope ready to try out the mod’s posted by bbsailor and Simonbaker above.
It seems there is a bit of interest lately on the forum regarding this detector with a few fresh posts and topics started.
By the way, I hope I am not hijacking this thread by posting here instead of starting a new one, if so please let me know.
I stripped the components from the pcb to take a couple of photographs of it for the benefit of the forum.
Also have been trying out my new pcb software, redrawing the board to post here as well. I have checked, double checked, and checked again the track connections, component layout etc. but as I am a novice at this I would appreciate any comments on my redrawn layout.
Yes bbsailor, on your advice above I have started to study Carl’s Hammerhead project and article and I do see the similar nature of both machines. It is a very good read and quite involved really, there are a lot of posts regarding it to go through and take in.
Anyways, here are the attached files all, so now I have to put it all back together ready for when I get my scope.
            Take care all.
            Russ.
Looks like you're doing a heck of a job! Keep it up, very nice contribution.

Hello, I see certain differences between a plate and other one. I also have a cs 6PI, but I observe certain differences. Has someone knowledge of this?. I am not technical, alone I am detectorista.
I have problems of stability with my device newly acquired, I it cannot bring soil over to ningun, it(he,she) does not remain stable, is as if the whole soil was a metal-worker. Since I can stabilize it?. Thank you

                  CD 4017 = 16 pins, not 14.

Hello, someone knows porqué my cs 6PI has three pins and three changeable resistances, when in others only two?.
Can someone say to me in order that they serve these resistances?, Thank you.

Thanks Patric, I noticed the 16 pin fault as soon as I started to assemble the components. have corrected mistake and built second board, will repost files as soon as tested and working. Beginners mistake !!! Not too bad for my first attempt I hope though?

draco. yes I had the same problem with instability when i got my 6Pi at first,
It turned out to be a faulty track on the main 'Frequency / battery check' potentiometer. 47k i believe. I changed this for a new one and that solved the problem.

Am having problems with the audio wiring in the battery box now though,
The previous owner had taken it apart and tried to modify it i think and i am too in-experienced to work it out at the moment.

I wonder if anyone could post a photo of that for me please ?

                            Hi, draco,
many thanks my friend, the photo's are exactly what I was looking for.
I will be able to follow the wires easily from them.

Hi,Can anyone confirm the component values for R39 thru to R44,or R45 in the hand drawn schematic for this project.
In the pdf. for the components it only seems to go to R39 in the List.
Also the Diode D15 is this a 1N4148 or a Bat85/65 again this is not in the list.
The resistor in photos, show on the pcb solder side ,is this R14 ?
                              Thank you.
