hi as any body got any info on the proscan pi has any body built and used one also having difficulty locating some parts ie 709 would be grateful for any advice

DigiKey is still selling the 709, other than that they're hard to find. You might see if Nat'l will send you a sample for free. Also, check out other opamps - the 709 is pretty dated. Some designs use the LM318, and I think the Signetics (Philips) NE5532/4 is also popular with PI. -
