  • Seeking HEX File for PIC Controller in MXT PRO Metal Detector for Repair Project

    Hello everyone,

I am currently working on a repair project involving the MXT PRO metal detector. I actually have two PCB boards with severely damaged PIC16F887 microcontrollers (see the attachment).

Has anyone tried to upload the HEX code from the MXT PRO? I guess it might be read-protected, but... maybe there's a way?

I'm not looking to violate any copyrights—I just need to repair the board(s).

Perhaps it is possible to buy pre-programmed chips? It was not possible at White's UK back then.

Thank you in advance for your support!

    Best regards,

    Piotr

I think the code is read protected but most PIC chips can be hacked to "rip" the code, then you can program a new PIC. Sorry, I don't know how to do it.

His chip exploded! I don't believe it's possible to get anything but burnt silicon out of it!

You need a third PCB, with an undamaged PIC microcontroller. Then you may get somewhere.
