In the case where the two coils are shielded, is that the shields of two coils can touch or should isolate where they touch? I do not know if this is understandable, it is the Google translation
    Hi Freddy67
    Does this explain your idea.

      Thank you Jap

For more safety, I will shield the two coils and connect the shield of the coaxial cable.

        Hi Freddy
After applying your faraday shielding around each coil leaving a 5mm gap so not to make a full loop you need to insulate at least the surface of one coil so there not electrically touching.
Personaly I wrap selfmagumating tape round both coils to be on the safe side, ordenary insulating tape is ok, used that for years.

          Hi Satdaveuk

That's what I thought too. I rolled my coils with insulating tape over the aluminum would do to keep the shield.

Matter of interest freddy what project are you using these coils for because if your making a project like the TGSL that Jap so kindly showed on the sketch foil as in kitchen foil, does reduce the sensitivity by a good 5-7% minimum and sometimes more depending on the thickness you managed to get hold of.
You wont have a problem if its BFO format used that stuff for years, and lead tape.
Mylar is good and cheap but easily goes open circuit before or during the wrapping process although that can vary depending where its been sourced because quite alot here have had success with it.
The best todate Ive used with no ovious degrading and easy to apply is synthetic graphite mix, if you want to take a look did a tutorial on it under the coil section of this forum.
Theres quite a few here and other forums that have since used this method and had great success like myself.

Going back to foil if you really want to use it, go out to a really cheap place like a hyper market where you will pick up the thin cheap stuff, thinner the better although oviously you will need to be more carefull when wrapping cause it breaks easer.

            Anyway all the best
            Regards
            Dave

              Hi Dave

Thank you for these tips. I have not yet had the opportunity to try the foil and will see the result as soon as the detector will be finished and ready for testing.
