  • Patent vs Open source project?

    Hi all

I got idea for measure signal in PI metal detector, which i can't find to be used, I'm working over it now - project is not finished yet.
If it work - i'd like to prevent it from being patented by some huge greedy company with lawyers and big wallet, and i want to make it "OPEN SOURCE"
    How to do this?

You can make "Defensive Publication" as means of open source IP protection, see Patexia webinar on that:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv6aRxYmvvg

I'm not sure if it will prevent all players from patenting as there is a certain Australian company notorious on filing patents of other people's ideas.
For some unclear reason the Australian patent officials repeatedly fail to consider forum knowledge as prior art, so stick to the webinar proposed methods.

mickeu, I've been working with lately IP detector, built the Garys and BRN and now I'm interested in doing one with Arduino open source and especially with the chipKIT UNO, which has the 32-bit pocesador, I think it is good power, so we may share information to make one good capacity
