Metal detector : IB or PI which is more efficient ?

I would like an opinion regarding the type of metal detector.
From de power supply and performance perspective, which is the most efficient ? IB or PI detector ?
How much current is drawing each ? (estimative)

There is no easy answer. IB is generally less power; you can reasonably design a resonant single-frequency IB that runs on 10mA. Most newer commercial designs run on 30mA or so. Most PI detectors run at 100mA or much more, although you can design them to run on less. PI usually gets the performance edge, if all you care about is depth, and you are running in mineralized ground.

My all-time favorite is probably XLT or DFX. Current favorite is V3i.
