    Probably you are right.
Personally, I have a considerable stock of different Through-hole technology (THT) parts and I would like to consume those "free" source as much as possible.
On other side, my stock of SMD parts is very limited and should invest in it even for every simple project. So I prefer THT projects.
Wish you full success with your THT KROT-2 version. Please report on results.

I have not good results with all kinds of paper.
The best that i found is from some magazines who is very thin, glossy and unstick easy when i put it inside hot water.
But there are some kinds of paper who unstick together with ink....

        Same with me.
I believe that i never will consume all those components, so i never will go to SMD side

Your SMD version, of course, not THT.

For this transfer method I am usually using heat resistant transparent foil for laser printers.

You can try with kitchen backing paper (cute in A4 format) too.

                • Baking foil ?? Never try. Yes there are also transparent heat resistant foil for laser printer. Work well, but publicity are for free why to buy it
Paper from magazin working well, but there are problem to remove it from PCB. That's why I use thin and glossy publicity paper.
Well I don't know when I'll be finish it. I'm very "short" with time last days. I hope I'll finish until end of this winter. Most problem will make me coil ....

Depend of size of PCB, but always more then 6-7 times. (more time -> better resultant!)
Original laminator have too low temperature. I do by-pass switch on temperature sensor. After some passes I do bypass and pass PCB throw another 2-3 passes.

Also i ordered new ics to replace the other so to stop giving erratic signals.
Today i received the MCP601 so i replaced with a new one.
Erratic signals remains very strong and quickly .
So now i wait to receive the ATXMEGA32 and the programmer so to replace and it....
                        What other i can do????

                        • If you remove the power TX to zero, there is a hindrance?

I have the erratic signals even if i remove the D1 (34119) and coil..
Everything i do..... the erratic signals remains.
