Thank you SimonS, at this moment new PCB is over my need, I still have two unpopulated PCB's from Geo (waiting for ...). I asked just for general info.

@dekoratör: As I can see your pcb is ok. Wish you full success with this project.

                • I believe that pcb for KPOT2 must be 2 sides with one side to use for shield.
Maybe if there is not the shielding side it makes KPOT unstable. This is the problem that i has with my homemade KPOT. I bought one full unit from Andrew and it works fine.

                  • It`s not true, I have one side PCB and my Kpot is totally stable

                    • Mine is stable too, on single sided DIP board. With shielded coil (graphite) and proper cable ( some audio stage\studio wire of unknown origin) not a single false beep outdoor at highest sensitivity, even indoor is relatively quiet in noisy apartment flat. Recently I updated newest K3 V12 software to play with multifrequency and different coils, everything works fine.

                      • So.. it is time to play again with my homemade KPOT. I have an original coil from Andrew so i can try it to see where is the problem.
                        Thanks for your reply .

                        • Tepco, What is Your procedure of making graphit shield? How do You mix it, and witch option You choose- applying on coils or inside of shells? What is resistance of Your shield?
How do You solve switching to others capacitors changing freq.?
I`m using S-VHS cable coaxial with two seperate shields.

                          • Lately appears on Andrew`s webside some note under the scheme:
КУ усилителя приемного канала 50-80 подбирается R10.
Земли можно не развязывать -> убрать дроссель Dr1.

It is about R10 and Dr1 but what does it mean?

                            Comment

                            • Mean that:

                              (A) amplification (gain) of receiving RX channel should be 50-80 and could be set by value of R10

In case that Krot2 ground balance is impossible, remove choke Dr1.

                              • Hey Jaka. how are you???
Why dr1 at KPOT2 is 10uH and at KPOT3 is 33uH??, it has not anuthing to do with the frequency...

                                Regards
