And made avrisp mkII by krot author, i think its work:
Im not use lcd and not make the coil yet, but when i put 5v battery its make a sound and when i short the button its make a tick sound.
By reading bernte_one post i can use cheap 1602 lcd hd44780 with 5v voltage supply, i'm right?
Im not sure about 2n2 NP0 caps that must use, i use multilayers caps for now, cant find 2n2 NP0 anywhere
Pozdrav
Don.
Hello all at forum. I am from Serbia - some km´s souther from Ivconic.
According to viewed authors video´s , i have concluded - this detector is excellent and worth making. I like special ADC auto-tune and auto coil balance. All my best regards going to Russian guy Andrei - developer of this device.
I am very interesting in all of yours opinions, which already have made and tested this excellent VLF detektor.
Small update on KROT. I made “original” coil, 45T 0.55mm for TX, 2.2R resistance, 1.22mH, and 200T 0.2mm, measured 78R and 30.5mH for RX. Actual inductance values may vary somewhat, measured with hand made resonant LC meter. Detector autotuned it to 8086Hz, at 167mA TX current (I replaced R3 with 1R for tests with different coils). Voltage across coil is 17.6Vpp, can be adjusted using TX power control. Coil is balanced to 520mV, then coil balance routine reduced it to 99mV. Initially detector was very unstable, beeping all the time, but later, after all adjustments done it started to perform properly. With unshielded coil, unshielded cable and powered from PSU, not battery, tested indoor, at Gain 1 setting completely quiet, at Gain 2 occasionally beeps from time to time. I don’t expect any stability issue with finished detector (shield, cable, metal box, battery etc in place). This will be completed later, (winter time), first i will prepare few more coils and finish them all at once (need to mix epoxy at least 4 times in the process) Also update to KROT3, not for multifrequency, but more for “multicoil” operation (different coils at different frequencies).
Perfect project, probably pointless to build anything else VLF.
Fully valued opinion !
I have agree at 100% !!
only small mods , tunning and tests with factory made coils.
Ok, after some reading and translating i have found that Andrew project was 4 years old with 3 different VLF detectors. KROT(MOLE) 1, 2 and 3. Last one is triple frequency "КРОТ3-ХМ" from 6KHZ - 17KHZ. Schematics and newest updates are here: http://www.radiodom.ucoz.ru/index/md..._khm_quot/0-20
And this one is for Very Deep Targets with 30 cm DD self-made , self-balanced coil with additional software amplifying at lower freq. up to 8KHZ. http://radiodom.org/K3-Gain-SG.hex
According to Andrew his KROT can catch coin 25 mm diameter at 0.35 meters in soil which is good and big objects to 3 meter.!
Using 14 inch - 33 cm coil. Current consumption less than 60 mA. Temperature range from 0 degree till plus 40 degree. So you cant run and dig at under ZERO temperatures. - Zero prospecting from -55 till 125 degree need military version of XMEGA and OP-Amplifiers in high grade technical military ceramic. Andrew introduced new HOT-ROCKS mode and tunable DISCRIM MASKING mode in latest updates.
