'KROT2-XM' (mole), new project Xmega32

  • I must admit that i am bit confused about this.
    ATxmega32A4 (from authors schematic on site) is having 32+4kB flash.
    Latest K3 HEX files are all above 70-80kB size.
    How about that?
    It is possible to flash those HEX files only in ATxmega128A4 chips.
    Or i am missing something here?

        Maybe. Not sure though. Winter is long enough.
        But i want first to clear up about those large HEX files, they can't fit into 32 chip version.
        Unless author figured out some special trick?

        Please write in English, because of the forum rules...

          • Andrew has mad till now 32 software versions for his KROT(MOLE) detector. Respect Author !!

            Ицо - program is exactly 32kB size long in hex - all others are FF(hex) or empty space for disassember. This is due to AVR studio or similar development saved complete reserved buffer in one hex.



            If you reserve more buffer space than 32kB you can see how program sequence is repeating. For example you can open buffer 1Mb and it will be filled till the end with repetitions of loaded segment 32kB.

            By the way KROT thread on Andrew site has 320 pages and many people were successfuly programmed their 1.8V-3.3V ATXMEGA32A4-AU. AU is automoto processor with industrial temperature range - so it can run under - Zero temoperatures.

              Ivica , me and much more people getting ready to make and improve this detector and open 2017 spring prospecting season in Serbia.!
              I also have plan to modify this KROT (MOLE) detector to Golden Oz Detector for some good Serbian friends in Oz - Australia. They need some kind of BUSH NUGGET CLEANER !! According to real informations country OZ is ELDORADO for gold prospectors. There is no such GOLD rich land like Oz.

                  • 2nd MCP601 Front-End Receiver


                    MCP601 rail-to-rail operational amplifier (op amp) has a gain bandwidth product of 2.8 MHz with low typical operating current of 230 uA and an offset voltage that is less than 2 mV.                     • How to boost KROT (MOLE) targets recovery speed ?

                      Lets see what recovery speed is on example of Makro Racer 2.




                      Ok what is wrong with MCP 601 ?


                      1st. Very slow Slew Rate 2.3V//µs or in prospecting term slow target response. This simple means that small signals from target in the soil will be very probably dispersed in the highly mineralised soil before front end receiver will even handle them.

                      2nd. Very miserable Gain Bandwidth Product of only 2.8MHz. In prospecting term this means that for very short in time and small signals from targets we will have very small gain of Front End receiver because as signal is shorter for given open loop gain amplifying is smaller. It further means poor detection depth. These are MCP 601 engineers design restrictions.

                      To solve problem we need Rail-to-Rail OP with extremelly high both Slew Rate and Gain Bandwidth Product. Proble is easy solvable and depend only from money. There are many excellent high speed rail-to-rail operational amplifiers on market.
